Crossroads Antigua
Founded in 1997, Crossroads Centre, Antigua was created to provide treatment and education to chemically dependent persons, those with other compulsive addictive behaviors, their families and significant others.
Almost ten years after opening its doors to the world, Crossroads Centre Antigua is recognized as a premier centre of excellence for the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. Statistics tell us that alcoholism and drug addiction affect an estimated 10% of the population. Alcoholism and drug addiction are chronic, progressive diseases and left untreated can lead to a number of devastating consequences for the individual and his or her family members.
Recovery is possible and is often lifesaving. Crossroads Centre sits peacefully on the quiet shores of Willoughby Bay Antigua. Known for its gentle trade winds and serene environment, Antigua is the perfect place to begin the journey of recovery. Mr. Clapton, a longtime resident of Antigua had himself experienced the healing nature of this beautiful island and set out to share this experience with others. Central to this vision was the principle that the clinical program be of the highest caliber and that financial assistance be available to those who need it. Crossroads Centre is a not- for- profit organization which has stayed true to its mission and objectives to fulfill Mr. Clapton’s vision of excellence and affordability.
Treatment is provided through residential care, family and aftercare programs.
The pathway to recovery is founded on the movement toward a change in lifestyle.
Crossroads Centre, Antigua also operates a 16 bed transitional living facility called The Bevon House (exclusively for local Antiguan residents) and facilitates a school-based education series, Breaking the Cycle, in all local schools.
As an international Centre, the overwhelming majority of our clients and their families travel from overseas to attend the treatment program. We have the distinct honour of being a part of their recovery journey- not only during the time they are with us, but for many years to come. Our message to those who have yet to walk through our doors is that recovery is possible and often lifesaving. Change begins with just one step and we are here to help take that first step towards recovery.
Mr. Clapton continues to promote the work being done at Crossroads Centre and his support has been unwavering. This concert is one of many events he has personally initiated to bring greater awareness of recovery and to directly aid those who need treatment. As you can see from the list of talented performers participating in this event, he is not alone in his efforts.
